    1. Scroll through our list of awesome reviewers below and contact ONE (1) reviewer that best matches the genre of your book. (You can try another until you find a reviewer who is interested).
    2. Write a formal review request to only one reviewer. Include a brief synopsis, the author’s name, the title of the book, and a link to the book in the Amazon Kindle store. If we do not receive a formal request, or if you are sending out blanket requests we will not review the book. Make sure the subject of your email is: KBR Review Request.

What to expect:

  1. Wait patiently; we get many requests for reviews a week. Our reviewers are not obligated to review your work. If they don’t get into your book, you may not see a review. NO HATE MAIL PLEASE. We all know how subjective literature is. You can always contact another reviewer. Please allow between two to four weeks to hear back from the reviewer. If you do not hear back within that time frame, you are free to contact another reviewer.
  2. Expect an honest review. When we opened our doors to reviewing, we changed our policy to accept any small press/indie author no matter how many reviews he or she has received. So be kind to the reviewers and be open to accepting their opinion of your work.
  3. Do not contact the reviewer after he or she receives your ebook. He or she will send a written copy of their review and post it on Amazon, but with Amazon’s new review policies we cannot guarantee that the review will stay on Amazon. And remember, our reviewers are busy people too, and don’t deserve to be badgered. To increase your chance of keeping the review up on Amazon, you may gift a copy to the reviewer upon their agreement to review your book. (The KBR only post our reviews on Amazon, but the reviewer is free to post the review under their name at any site, including their personal blog if they have one. After all, the review is their intellectual property.)
  4. Feel free to add KBR reviews, or a snippet, to your “Amazon product description page” or website. This is our gift to you for allowing us to read your work.

Meet the KBR Reviewers…

Non-Fiction

Annette Ranald –  I am a practicing attorney by day, an historical and political fiction writer anytime else.  I have a blog on Facebook and Goodreads.  I’m looking to make my mark as a book reviewer of non-fiction work, since I read so much of it.  I’m interested in history, biography, memoir, current events, self-help, satire, almost anything non-fiction except for paranormal, religious or spiritual. When submitting your review request, be sure to include subject “KBR Review Request” and send to annetteranald@gmail.com

Thriller/ Suspense/ Horror

Kelly Young – I am a nanny and newlywed who loves reading Mystery/Thriller novels, especially psychological thrillers. My favorite books are fast paced, nail biting thrillers with a lot of plot twists that suck me in from the very beginning and have me reading late into the night until the very last page. I help run a large book group with other nannies around the country who also love this genre. I am a goodreads reviewer and also blog about my favorite new books and authors. Some popular authors I like include B.A. Paris, Ruth Ware, K.L. Slater, Taylor Adams, Mary Kubica, and Harlan Coben. I especially love debut novels from new authors in this genre. When submitting your book for review, put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is KellyYoungReads@gmail.com*

Romance

Stephanie Lasley– As an avid Contemporary Romance reader, Stephanie has devoured over a hundred popular trilogies and stand alone novels. She loves curling up in her Lazy Boy chair while losing herself in the plot of a good story. Being a rapid reader will enable her to provide an author with a swift assessment of their work. When submitting your book please include “KBR Review Request” in the subject line and email Stephanie at stephanie.lasley60@gmail.com

Lashanta Charles – I’m an author, a mother of three (3.5 if you count my husband), and also a Soldier. I’m from South Carolina, but currently live in Washington state. When I’m not writing, I’m reading (or eating, eating is VERY important to me). I will read just about anything, but I do have my limits. My current favorite is Paranormal Romance. Yes, I love the idea of gorgeous alien men coming to cherish women as their life mates…sue me! I love romance period, but I get all warm and fuzzy for Sports Romances, New Adult Romances, Contemporary Romances, and College Romances. I love a good crisis, but I hate a cheater, and I’m okay with cliff hangers (as long as the next book is promised to me and it isn’t a year away). I’m also okay with books in a series as long as I can start from the beginning (even if they’re all stand alone). I won’t accept poetry and Y/A will be considered case by case. My preferred formats are Kindle or PDF. Send your review requests to lashantacharles@gmail.com

Mary Hooper – I love to read and I read several books a week. I currently do read ARC’s for a few select authors for honest reviews. I post reviews to Amazon, Goodreads and my Facebook page. I am working on setting up a Facebook page focused on reviews, spotlights for new releases and authors profiles. When submitting your book, please include KBR Review in the subject line and my email is dachshundlady@comcast.net

David Burnett – I am a retired statistician/ educational researcher, having retired as director of our state’s department of education. Currently, I teach psychology, part-time at a local community college. I love to read and to write, and I’ve published two novels. I enjoy photography, travel, and playing with our two – soon to be three – grandchildren. I enjoy Romance (contemporary, historical, time-slip), Spy/Adventure. I would prefer to receive books in either as Kindle books or mobi formats. I could also accept pdf files. When you send your formal request put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line. My email is carsue8083@aol.com.

Science Fiction/Fantasy

Traci Marlatt – A Recent College grad who loves books and would read all day if I could. I prefer Fantasy over Sci-fi, but I am not opposed to reading a good sci-fi either. What kind of book-nerd would I be if I were? I prefer reading on my kindle. And will “grade” on writing ability: character development, plot-line, world creation, editing errors, etc. depending on book needs. Email to: tmtelatar@gmail.com Subject: “KBR review request” and please include a synopsis. Happy Writing!

Poetry

Jim Bennett – This poet will review any poetry as long as it’s in Kindle format. He’s married and lives in Toronto. Jim has taught “Poetry Techniques for Prose Writers” in Sheridan College. When contacting Jim, include the subject “KBR Review Submission” and mail to jim.jimb@gmail.com. Be sure to attach your .mobi file to your email request. (A Kindle book author can get a copy of his/her book file by going to its project and starting to update it. You will be given an opportunity to download a preview of your Kindle ebook. Save this, it’s the .mobi file you need to send to me.)

Multiple Genres

Meridith West – I am a coffee drinking, horse riding mother of four who lives for the excitement and adventure of books! My favourite books are those with twists and turns, complex characters with a hint of romance. I am known for reading far into the  night for a book I cannot put down! I am a published author who loves supporting other writers. I am a Goodreads reviewer and blogger who looks forward to some great reads! Some of my favourite authors include Ilona Andrews, Amelia Hutchins, Nalini Singh and Stephanie Garber …anything fantasy is for me! When submitting your book for review put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is MeridithWest@outlook.com

Matt McAvoy – As well as writing books, I also love to read, and I will happily read and review ARCs and published books from authors and publishers; I will read ALL GENRES, FICTION AND NON-FICTION.  If I read your book I will post reviews on GOODREADS and on my popular book review BLOG, with links from my FACEBOOK and TWITTER accounts – I’ll also put your book’s cover on INSTAGRAM and my PINTEREST board “Books I’ve Reviewed”; Editorial Reviews can be added to Amazon in Author Central.  My reviews are very detailed and bloggy (usually several hundred words), and they do not shy away from honesty, but I’ll try not to dash dreams either!  I do comment on grammar, so please try to send me final proofs; for this reason I prefer PDF copies.

I also offer beta-reading, synopsis-writing, proofreading and editing services, all of which can also be found at my website.
If you have written a book which you would like reviewed, please send it to me via the form at:

Erin Everett – I am a mother of three who loves to submerge (and scare) herself with a good book. When submitting your book for review, put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is erin_lynnbly@yahoo.com

Lindsay Hiller – I am the mother of three and author of a bestselling Young Adult/ Fantasy novel. I am addicted to reading and I go through at least three books a week. I prefer to read young adult, fantasy, regency romance and some historical fiction. I am a sucker for a good love story (no sex) so your book needs at least a hint of romance. Please put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line and send to arh.turner@gmail.com.

Elizabeth Alsobrooks – She was one of those girls whose parents would walk by her bedroom door and say, “turn off that flashlight and go to sleep,” because they knew she was hiding under the covers with a book. Gerald Sallier – An unabashed elitist, Gerald seeks to find those diamonds in the rough of self-published fiction. Those who transcend market politics and have something worth actually saying. He enjoys works with a philosophical twist (provided you’ve done your homework, no armchairs allowed) and loves a riveting satire – again, provided you actually have something worth saying. Silly musings need not apply. No romance or any other genre which is derivative of romance. No simple adult fiction, vis a vis YA. He enjoys science fiction, satire, humor, fantasy, and literary. When submitting your formal review request, be sure to include subject “KBR Review Request”. His email is gtsallier@gmail.com.

I read historical nonfiction in between novels, and particularly love reading about World War II (I hated history in high school, now I love it – go figure). I will definitely review anything “military,” as well as anything written about “fitness/health,” “higher education,” or “employment.” I am open to reviewing any book, but my time is limited because I write every day, marketing my writing when I have time. Douglas Meeks – I’ve traveled all over the world, been to the top of the Eiffel Tower, to the Devil’s Anvil in Saudi Arabia, on top of the highest mountain in the Middle East and the lowest in the USA. After spending a lifetime working in or with the military, I finally had made enough to sit back and do as much (or as little) as I wanted to and since I had always been an avid reader, the jump to making it one of my major pastimes was easy. I’ve read many different genres over the years but stumbled into Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy after many years of reading mostly books in the Fantasy genre. I wanted a good story about people of action and passion that did not always end up in some tragedy. When submitting primarily M/F – PNR/UF stories, title the email: “KBR Review Request”, and send a formal request to mail4dcm@gmail.com. Doug is not accepting submissions at this time.

I need to be emailed a mobi file for my Kindle. You can submit a formal request at m.moya@gmx.at and put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line.

Karen Perkins – I’m a keen reader and writer of historical fiction, and have recently published two novels, An Ill Wind and Dead Reckoning, both in the Valkyrie Series about piracy and life in the Seventeenth Century Caribbean. My only hobby seems to be reading. I enjoy reading most anything… mystery/thrillers, scifFi, paranormal/horror/vampire/zombie type books, action/adventure and romance (preferably suspense). Andria Sexelby @ASaxelby – Andria left behind the hectic world of Human Resources in London to set up home in the more tranquil Italian countryside with her husband and two children. She currently teaches English, introducing her students to the delights of English Literature where possible. When not reading she’s glued to films or listening to music. She reads most genres including historical fiction/non fiction as well as biographies and plays. Please send mobi format for Kindle. When submitting, title email: KBR Review Request and send to Andria is not accepting submissions at this time.

Katharine – I’m ever-so-slowly switching over from print to ebooks in order to make a little more space in the moving trucks. My Kindle holds everything from Aaron Allston to HG Wells. When not reading and avoiding housework, I’m homeschooling, cooking, volunteering, studying, hosting, trying to force the computer to do my bidding, or failing spectacularly at trying to multitask. I accept most sci-fi, historical fiction, urban fantasy, surreal fiction, and young adult submissions in Kindle-compatible formats. Katharine is not accepting submissions for the next few weeks.

    1. Like many others I am looking for reviews and honest feedback about my book. Elvis From One Fan to Another is a fully interactive eBook with hundreds of links, photos and videos. If anyone has a chance, the book is on

      Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Elvis-From-One-Fan-Another-ebook/dp/B00E45AWQY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1385828346&sr=8-1&keywords=elvis+from+one+fan+to+another

      The website is http://www.elvisfromonefantoanother.com

If anyone has any suggestions please tell me.

      1. Have you looked through our list of reviewers on this page? Each bio details what they like to read.

  1. Short Short Story — Flash Fiction

I’ve written a short short story (aka “Flash Fiction) which is only about 3 pages long, and recently published it on Amazon for 99 cents. Also included in the book are six poems, but what I’m really interested in are reviews of the short story.

The story is gritty and a bit funny, perhaps resembling short stories like those of J.D. Salinger or Raymond Carver.

Would anyone here be interested in reviewing it? (As I say, it’s about three pages, and takes about four minutes to read.)

    Thanks.

    1. Mark, You’ll have to go to our “Get Reviewed” Page and scroll through our list of reviewers. They post their prefered genre(s) in their bios. Give that a try and see what happens.

    1. Hi Darren, You’ll just have to search through our reviewer bio’s and pick one that reads that genre. If no one is interested that genre at this time, check back often because we are always adding new reviewers.

    1. That’s a good question, John. I’m quite surprised myself that with over 25 reviewers we get far more requests than we can manage. Ans that’s why we are always adding reviewers–and still cannot keep up with the demand. But since our reviewers do this for enjoyment, we give them freedom to accept reviews when it is most convienient for them, working around their family, and life schedules. They do not get paid, so I’m sure you understand.

  2. CJ
I came, I saw, I like but only have a book on British army humour set in the 1960s. Obviously what I need is a general reader and there are not many of those around. Will keep an eye on your site – good luck.

    1. Are you British? I’m new to the site (as of today) and one of my favorite things to read is anything by a
British author… Send me an official request thingie and I can get back to you (I have this feeling they want us to go through official channels all the way). Jane McBride

      1. Hi Jane…I’m sure you won’t have a problem getting submissions… Probably more than you want/can handle! Ha! Have fun. And be sure to read the “Starter Kit” I sent you. That is critical.

      2. Well, Jeff, you’re right about that. More than I can handle was right! BUT if it’s British, I can read them all day and all night. I would LOVE to be flooded with British manuscripts. I would make sure the kids and dogs were fed, but everything else would be neglected.

      3. Once I’ve worked out how to send you an official request (I’ve only just discovered this site and its opportunities to get reviewed about 5 minutes ago!)I would certainly love you to review my novel. I am British, it is set in the Uk – so hopefully would be something you would be interested to read.

      4. Hi Jude,
What is a formal request? A formal request is a professional request for review including book information, link, brief synopsis, page count, genre, etc–sent to the appropriate reviewer per the bios listed on this page. This information allows the reviewer to gauge whether they will/want to review your book in the most efficient manner. DO NOT send out blanket requests. Good luck!

      5. Hiya Jane. I’m in Bolton, Northern England. I’d love to send you my novel but it says you’re not accepting submissions.
        Aaron David

    1. Hi Steve, Please peruse our list of reviewers and contact the reviewer directly who you think is the best match per their genre preferences. Then write a formal review request and send it to that reviewer (see their email addy in the bio). Good luck!

  4. I would be happy if Scott Worden reviews my ebook Secrets of Parenting with Love and Logic. This ebook is non fiction and it is about relationship between children and their parents/teachers.
I know that Scott is very busy but how can I reach this reviewer? Where should I apply?
Thank you in advance for your advice.

    1. Hi Tatiana, Look at Scott’s bio. His email address is listed there. Simply submit a formal review request to him directly. Good luck.

  5. I just stumbled onto this site and find it interesting.
I’ve just published the first of my Five Flash Fiction Stories E-Book / Kindle (.99)
I have the book as a PDF on my site as well (.99)
I plan to return sometime after the New Year.
    Happy holidays everyone!
    – Joseph

    1. JD, Just rty whoever seems to fit best. No single reviewer categorizes their favorite genre exactly like yours because yours is obviously unique. Try a reviewer that comes close. Submit a fomal review request (per instructions) and see what happens. If they pass, try another reviewer. The only one who can answer your question is the reviewer you contact–the reviewers do not monitor this page–they are too busy reading.

    1. Okay. Good luck! And keep your eyes peeled after the New Year–some of our reviewers will come back on line after the first of the year.

  6. Will you consider adding reviewers for Literary Fiction? All the reviewers are for genre books, but there is a big component of literature on the Kindle, too.

    1. Try Kate Farrell if she is available now. She was our Lit. Fict. judge in the 2012 best indie contest. We take reviewers as they come on a volunteer basis.

  7. My book is about revenge for the sex slaves of WWII

    http://www.amazon.com/Snap-Dragons-Tail-ebook/dp/B00AOAR68K

I lived nearly half of my life as a sex slave but this story is about my grandmother.
There are many elements people who read say thriller, others say erotic because there is sex, blackmail and sado-masochism.

I have little idea about promoting a book. I crtainly cannot go on tv. I live in hiding with my bodyguards, husband and children. I feel a deep passion for this story and my editors love this book. People who read love it but how to make this book well known?

please if you can teach me I would be happier.

    1. Hi Wang May Ming,
If you search through our “Author Resources” page, you will find a section with links to author servives (listed below the promotional sites we recommend). Look for the section titled “Editors, proof-readers, and cooperatives”. At the top of the list you will see this… “Quality eBook Covers from Jeff Bennington – $99 BUY NOW” When you click on that link, you will find that I offer an author consultation with a complete book analysis. I am currently ranked #28 in Amazon’s Author List in the Horror category, and have been ranked as high as #8. I can give you some advice if you are willing to go that route. Otherwise scroll through our author services for other great sites to promote your books.

I also recommend reading “The Indie Author’s Guide to the Universe.”

      Good luck!
      Jeff

    2. I am interested in exchanging reviews. Presumed Guilty is getting favorable reviews, but I would like many more.

I want an honest, thoughtful review and welcome constructive criticism; however, I believe that if a review would damage a book’s average rating, that it should be shared with the author privately, particularly if authors are exchanging reviews.

      ginocox@frontier.com

  8. Thanks for providing this service, it’s invaluable. I submitted a request for Scott to review Stop Sabotaging Your Life, 3 Steps To Your Full Potential. I thought that he would be a good person to review my book because he enjoys reading non-fiction and books on relationships. Hope you enjoy it, Scott!

  9. I’m not sure how to send my preferred reviewer a free copy of my book on Kindle as she requested. A little help? Do the reviewers accept novels in MS Word files? Thank you.

    1. Hi Laura, Your book must be published on Amazon before we can review it. Most reviewers here have a Kindle and need the “kindle format” which is a .mobi file. If you have not formatted or edited your book for Kindle yet, see our Author Resource page for a “formatting resource”.

      1. Hi Laura, I’m a published author and am just putting my hat in for reviews. Please let me know what your book is about. I can take pdf file or any file you have. Please write to me at writestylepublishing@gmail.com. do not let the name fool you it’s our publishing company email. We will not solicit your work for publishing. Thanks

  10. Very helpful site for Indie Authors and publishers, I thank you for the info. I’d request one of the reviewers for my kindle edition to review.

    PVK

    1. Hi Russell, We apologize that our reviewers are so overwhelmed with books. We are always adding to the team and still can’t keep up with demand. And with our contest about to get under way, things aren’t going to open up anytime soon.

  11. Is there a spiritually oriented reviewer who will read my autobiographical account of my meetings with and instruction by ascended masters, “Adventures of a Western Mystic: Apprentice to the Masters.”? On Amazon it has nine 5-star reviews.

  12. I write books of no redeeming social value. Crime fiction theoretically written with a sense of humor and even some romance. I would love to receive a review of my books but virtually everyone who reads crime fiction is not taking submissions. “Things not opening up anytime soon” does not sound encourging. Wish you guys all the best, too bad we all have to sleep a few hours a day. Good luck mikefaricyauthor@gmail.com

    1. I’m not an official Kindle reviewer but I’ve been looking for a good new book to read for a long time. If you read and review my Fantasy book on Amazon I’d be happy to do the same to yours. Let me know if you’re interested.

      1. Hi Laura, We are always looking for reviewers. If you are interested, see the submission form above. reviewing here at KBR is a great way to great FREE reads in exchange for a fair and honest review.

        Jeff

  13. I’d apprecoate reviewers of literary fiction and literature. Would be nice to see the KBR branch out into that and offer literary reviews as well as the genre reviews it currently has.

    1. Hi Amanda, We do review your genre. Unfortunately, many of our reviewers are currently on the judging panel for the contest, including those who would love to read your work. We currently have 3 more reviewers in queue, so there will be more up soon. Check back in a week or two; perhaps one of them will be interested in your genre.

      JB

  14. Other than contacting each reviewer one by one, is there a way to find out if they are members of Amazon Prime and therefore could download / borrow a book for review for free?

Thank you for offering this valuable service. It’s a great idea.

    1. Hi Owen, It is always the authors responsibility in any circumstance to provide a reviewer here or elsewhere with a review copy (print or ebook). If you read our reviewer bios, you will not only find out which reviewers read your particular genre and what format they require from the author. And so you know, Prime members get those free monthly rentals because they paid for the service. Any honest reviewer “receives a free copy of the book in exchange for a fair and honest review”. Almost all of our reviewers require a “kindle” version which is easily downloadable from your/the publisher’s Amazon KDP account.

      1. What I was wondering was not so much about genre or formatting, but if, after reading the bios and finding a reviewer to accept my book, I could point them towards my book’s Amazon page where they could then download the free KDP Select version, rather than me having to mail a gift copy. I imagine that a lot of the avid readers who review here are Amazon Prime members.

I posed my original question as a suggestion so that if acceptable, in addition to mentioning genre in their bios, reviewers in the future could also mention if they are willing to accept loaned books through Prime / KDP select.

        Thank you.

      2. It is the author’s responsibility to give the reviewer a copy. I understand what you are saying, and they are too busy reading multiple books a week, writing reviews, and living life with their families that they honestly don’t have time to chase after books. Thats why they have email addresses posted so the authors can easily send them a kindle copy. And in this case, our reviewers already explain how to give them a copy in each bio… none of which includes chasing after the authors book. THink of it like this; they are doing the author a tremendous service. Out of gratitude, the author bends over backwards to give them a copy of their book. EX: I created my own 60-day blog tour in 2009, organized it, emailed reviewers (cold calls) and mailed or emailed 75 print and/or ebooks and I never expected the reviewers to do anything accept read my book and write a review. My effort was the only way I could get the book into their hands. I think we’ve made things about as easy and cost effective for any author willing to learn how to get a kindle version (mobi) of his/her book into the hands of our amazingly professional reviewers. They really are the best and at times I have to protect their time… that’s what I’m doing here.

  15. I could not agree more. I send an email to a continually changing list of reviewers (100) asking if they would like a copy of my latest book for review. Most of the responses I receive are positive. Some individuals do not respond, I take that as a ‘no’. Others respond with a definite no, not a problem I’d rather that response as compared to sending a copy they have no intention of reading. I received a response from one woman who said she only reviews autographed hard cover books. She’s probably not the sort of individual I want to deal with. The other learning point in this process is that just because someone has agreed to accept and review does not mean they can begin tonight. I have a good many reviewers who may be 3-4 months in the process. We all have lives, jobs, family, or even, God forbid, other books to review. Of the hundred copies I send out for review I receive about 30-40 reviews, I chalk it up to the cost of doing business and it seems a small price in the scheme of things.

  16. Sorry, I wasn’t trying to argue or complain, just to see if it was an option or suggest it as a new one. I didn’t realize it would create so much more work for the reviewers, but now I understand. I appreciate the service being offered here.
