    1. Scroll through our list of awesome reviewers below and contact ONE (1) reviewer that best matches the genre of your book. (You can try another until you find a reviewer who is interested).
    2. Write a formal review request to only one reviewer. Include a brief synopsis, the author’s name, the title of the book, and a link to the book in the Amazon Kindle store. If we do not receive a formal request, or if you are sending out blanket requests we will not review the book. Make sure the subject of your email is: KBR Review Request.

What to expect:

  1. Wait patiently; we get many requests for reviews a week. Our reviewers are not obligated to review your work. If they don’t get into your book, you may not see a review. NO HATE MAIL PLEASE. We all know how subjective literature is. You can always contact another reviewer. Please allow between two to four weeks to hear back from the reviewer. If you do not hear back within that time frame, you are free to contact another reviewer.
  2. Expect an honest review. When we opened our doors to reviewing, we changed our policy to accept any small press/indie author no matter how many reviews he or she has received. So be kind to the reviewers and be open to accepting their opinion of your work.
  3. Do not contact the reviewer after he or she receives your ebook. He or she will send a written copy of their review and post it on Amazon, but with Amazon’s new review policies we cannot guarantee that the review will stay on Amazon. And remember, our reviewers are busy people too, and don’t deserve to be badgered. To increase your chance of keeping the review up on Amazon, you may gift a copy to the reviewer upon their agreement to review your book. (The KBR only post our reviews on Amazon, but the reviewer is free to post the review under their name at any site, including their personal blog if they have one. After all, the review is their intellectual property.)
  4. Feel free to add KBR reviews, or a snippet, to your “Amazon product description page” or website. This is our gift to you for allowing us to read your work.

Meet the KBR Reviewers…

Non-Fiction

Annette Ranald –  I am a practicing attorney by day, an historical and political fiction writer anytime else.  I have a blog on Facebook and Goodreads.  I’m looking to make my mark as a book reviewer of non-fiction work, since I read so much of it.  I’m interested in history, biography, memoir, current events, self-help, satire, almost anything non-fiction except for paranormal, religious or spiritual. When submitting your review request, be sure to include subject “KBR Review Request” and send to annetteranald@gmail.com

Thriller/ Suspense/ Horror

Kelly Young – I am a nanny and newlywed who loves reading Mystery/Thriller novels, especially psychological thrillers. My favorite books are fast paced, nail biting thrillers with a lot of plot twists that suck me in from the very beginning and have me reading late into the night until the very last page. I help run a large book group with other nannies around the country who also love this genre. I am a goodreads reviewer and also blog about my favorite new books and authors. Some popular authors I like include B.A. Paris, Ruth Ware, K.L. Slater, Taylor Adams, Mary Kubica, and Harlan Coben. I especially love debut novels from new authors in this genre. When submitting your book for review, put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is KellyYoungReads@gmail.com*

Romance

Stephanie Lasley– As an avid Contemporary Romance reader, Stephanie has devoured over a hundred popular trilogies and stand alone novels. She loves curling up in her Lazy Boy chair while losing herself in the plot of a good story. Being a rapid reader will enable her to provide an author with a swift assessment of their work. When submitting your book please include “KBR Review Request” in the subject line and email Stephanie at stephanie.lasley60@gmail.com

Lashanta Charles – I’m an author, a mother of three (3.5 if you count my husband), and also a Soldier. I’m from South Carolina, but currently live in Washington state. When I’m not writing, I’m reading (or eating, eating is VERY important to me). I will read just about anything, but I do have my limits. My current favorite is Paranormal Romance. Yes, I love the idea of gorgeous alien men coming to cherish women as their life mates…sue me! I love romance period, but I get all warm and fuzzy for Sports Romances, New Adult Romances, Contemporary Romances, and College Romances. I love a good crisis, but I hate a cheater, and I’m okay with cliff hangers (as long as the next book is promised to me and it isn’t a year away). I’m also okay with books in a series as long as I can start from the beginning (even if they’re all stand alone). I won’t accept poetry and Y/A will be considered case by case. My preferred formats are Kindle or PDF. Send your review requests to lashantacharles@gmail.com

Mary Hooper – I love to read and I read several books a week. I currently do read ARC’s for a few select authors for honest reviews. I post reviews to Amazon, Goodreads and my Facebook page. I am working on setting up a Facebook page focused on reviews, spotlights for new releases and authors profiles. When submitting your book, please include KBR Review in the subject line and my email is dachshundlady@comcast.net

David Burnett – I am a retired statistician/ educational researcher, having retired as director of our state’s department of education. Currently, I teach psychology, part-time at a local community college. I love to read and to write, and I’ve published two novels. I enjoy photography, travel, and playing with our two – soon to be three – grandchildren. I enjoy Romance (contemporary, historical, time-slip), Spy/Adventure. I would prefer to receive books in either as Kindle books or mobi formats. I could also accept pdf files. When you send your formal request put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line. My email is carsue8083@aol.com.

Science Fiction/Fantasy

Traci Marlatt – A Recent College grad who loves books and would read all day if I could. I prefer Fantasy over Sci-fi, but I am not opposed to reading a good sci-fi either. What kind of book-nerd would I be if I were? I prefer reading on my kindle. And will “grade” on writing ability: character development, plot-line, world creation, editing errors, etc. depending on book needs. Email to: tmtelatar@gmail.com Subject: “KBR review request” and please include a synopsis. Happy Writing!

Poetry

Jim Bennett – This poet will review any poetry as long as it’s in Kindle format. He’s married and lives in Toronto. Jim has taught “Poetry Techniques for Prose Writers” in Sheridan College. When contacting Jim, include the subject “KBR Review Submission” and mail to jim.jimb@gmail.com. Be sure to attach your .mobi file to your email request. (A Kindle book author can get a copy of his/her book file by going to its project and starting to update it. You will be given an opportunity to download a preview of your Kindle ebook. Save this, it’s the .mobi file you need to send to me.)

Multiple Genres

Meridith West – I am a coffee drinking, horse riding mother of four who lives for the excitement and adventure of books! My favourite books are those with twists and turns, complex characters with a hint of romance. I am known for reading far into the  night for a book I cannot put down! I am a published author who loves supporting other writers. I am a Goodreads reviewer and blogger who looks forward to some great reads! Some of my favourite authors include Ilona Andrews, Amelia Hutchins, Nalini Singh and Stephanie Garber …anything fantasy is for me! When submitting your book for review put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is MeridithWest@outlook.com

Matt McAvoy – As well as writing books, I also love to read, and I will happily read and review ARCs and published books from authors and publishers; I will read ALL GENRES, FICTION AND NON-FICTION.  If I read your book I will post reviews on GOODREADS and on my popular book review BLOG, with links from my FACEBOOK and TWITTER accounts – I’ll also put your book’s cover on INSTAGRAM and my PINTEREST board “Books I’ve Reviewed”; Editorial Reviews can be added to Amazon in Author Central.  My reviews are very detailed and bloggy (usually several hundred words), and they do not shy away from honesty, but I’ll try not to dash dreams either!  I do comment on grammar, so please try to send me final proofs; for this reason I prefer PDF copies.

I also offer beta-reading, synopsis-writing, proofreading and editing services, all of which can also be found at my website.
If you have written a book which you would like reviewed, please send it to me via the form at:

Erin Everett – I am a mother of three who loves to submerge (and scare) herself with a good book. When submitting your book for review, put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is erin_lynnbly@yahoo.com

Lindsay Hiller – I am the mother of three and author of a bestselling Young Adult/ Fantasy novel. I am addicted to reading and I go through at least three books a week. I prefer to read young adult, fantasy, regency romance and some historical fiction. I am a sucker for a good love story (no sex) so your book needs at least a hint of romance. Please put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line and send to arh.turner@gmail.com.

Elizabeth Alsobrooks – She was one of those girls whose parents would walk by her bedroom door and say, “turn off that flashlight and go to sleep,” because they knew she was hiding under the covers with a book. Gerald Sallier – An unabashed elitist, Gerald seeks to find those diamonds in the rough of self-published fiction. Those who transcend market politics and have something worth actually saying. He enjoys works with a philosophical twist (provided you’ve done your homework, no armchairs allowed) and loves a riveting satire – again, provided you actually have something worth saying. Silly musings need not apply. No romance or any other genre which is derivative of romance. No simple adult fiction, vis a vis YA. He enjoys science fiction, satire, humor, fantasy, and literary. When submitting your formal review request, be sure to include subject “KBR Review Request”. His email is gtsallier@gmail.com.

I read historical nonfiction in between novels, and particularly love reading about World War II (I hated history in high school, now I love it – go figure). I will definitely review anything “military,” as well as anything written about “fitness/health,” “higher education,” or “employment.” I am open to reviewing any book, but my time is limited because I write every day, marketing my writing when I have time. Douglas Meeks – I’ve traveled all over the world, been to the top of the Eiffel Tower, to the Devil’s Anvil in Saudi Arabia, on top of the highest mountain in the Middle East and the lowest in the USA. After spending a lifetime working in or with the military, I finally had made enough to sit back and do as much (or as little) as I wanted to and since I had always been an avid reader, the jump to making it one of my major pastimes was easy. I’ve read many different genres over the years but stumbled into Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy after many years of reading mostly books in the Fantasy genre. I wanted a good story about people of action and passion that did not always end up in some tragedy. When submitting primarily M/F – PNR/UF stories, title the email: “KBR Review Request”, and send a formal request to mail4dcm@gmail.com. Doug is not accepting submissions at this time.

I need to be emailed a mobi file for my Kindle. You can submit a formal request at m.moya@gmx.at and put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line.

Karen Perkins – I’m a keen reader and writer of historical fiction, and have recently published two novels, An Ill Wind and Dead Reckoning, both in the Valkyrie Series about piracy and life in the Seventeenth Century Caribbean. 1. Hello, do I just post up what reviewer I want here or is there another way?

I’ll just leave this here for now.

My story is currently free on amazon. It’s called A Vagrant Story. I would appreciate someone who is not particular about their genre choices to give it a look. Any help at placing the genre is appreciated too because it’s troubling me. Thanks.

    http://www.amazon.com/A-Vagrant-Story-ebook/dp/B00BR4MKS8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362957407&sr=8-2&keywords=a+vagrant+story
“When four homeless people find a suicide note they vow to save the man who wrote it before he can carry it out. With only until New Year’s Eve to track him down they follow clues in the note which lead them on a journey across the city.

Having long hidden in the darkness of the gutter, the four must finally return to the world they left behind and inevitably face the demons of their past they’ve long been running from.

They find a city corrupted, over run with turf wars and violence. The people tremble as a serial killer stalks the midnight air. The police appear to have given up hope in catching him. This killer is seemingly unstoppable. Unstoppable, until his path crosses with that of four hapless bums. The last thread of hope lies in each of their hands as their journey to save one man’s life causes them to save many.”

    1. Pal,
If you’d like a review, please contact one of the reviewers listed on this page. You’ll have to find one that reads your genre per their bio, and then send a formal request to the reviewer’s email listed. DO NOT send out a blanket email, or you will not get reviewed. Basically, read the instructions at the top and you’ll be fine. What is a formal request? A formal request is a professional request for review including book information, link, brief synopsis, page count, genre, etc. This information allows the reviewer to gauge whether they will/want to review your book in the most efficient manner. Good luck!

  2. I’m looking for a reviewer who know and appreciates short stories as an art form, and who appreciates creative memoir. My short story, Friday Night Knife and Gun Club uses satire and projected memoir in an imagined dystopian future.

    1. Hi Linda, You’ll have to look through the reviewers listed to see who prefers your genre, and then contact them via the email listed in their bio. Books posted here are rarely seen by our reviewers. Usually if a reviewer likes the genre, it doesn’t matter if they review novels or shorts. Good luck!

  3. Thanks, Jeff. Actually, I did look and didn’t find any. My story doesn’t fit into any genre. I was hoping to find a reviewer who likes literary fiction and satire. I’ll look over the list again. Thanks!

    1. There are reviewers who say they read almost anything. All you can do is pick one that is close or open to multiple genres. But either way, posting here won’t get a review.

    1. Hi Lynnette, feel free to contact another reviewer if you don’t hear anything after a week. Thanks for checking us out!

    1. Sounds like you need to contact a reviewer directly from our Romance Reviewers. Just read there bios and pick the best match!

  4. I was curious about something… do you mind my asking why you/your reviewers do not accept erotica? Thanks.

Most do not accept it and I don’t really understand why. Anyhow, would you at least accept a paid ad of an erotica book? Like would it be okay to pay for a $10 promo for my ebook to be tweeted and listed for one week in your library? Or would that not work either?

    Thanks.

    1. Hi Emma, Sounds like you need to visit our sister site, http://www.thekindleromancereview.net. We review and promote erotica there.

As far as your question: Why our reviewers do not review erotica? There are two answers: The reviewers on our KBR list do not prefer erotica, and second, we have reviewers who review erotica at The Kindle Romance Review. Hope that helps.

      1. Yes it helps. Thank you for your fast reply, Jeff. I was just curious and had no idea you had another site. Thanks for the link!

If it’s okay I’d also like (at some point) to do a paid promo/ad on here. Or should I use the other site for that? Well, I’ll just read further.

        Thank you again.

    1. The HTML will not work on Kindle. The Kindle Format is the “mobi” format. After you save your file at KDP, download the approved mobi file (Look for the blue note near the file download area). If the reviewer accepts “Gifted” copies, I’m sure that’s fine, too!

    1. Just try the best pick.. take a chance. If the first reviewer does not respond, try another one!

  5. Have I missed something, or are there no reviewers interested in non-genre novels, i.e. books about real life and ordinary people without vampires or space ships or dead bodies galore? Don’t mean to sound snarky, but this is a hell of a state we’ve come to if “mainstream” novels such as Jane Austin and Charles Dickens wrote (and of course their modern equivalents) are not even on our radar anymore. Tell me it ain’t so.

    1. Not sure what you need, pianomusicman. You can just about classify any novel into a genre…it’s what readers want…that’s how they know if what they’re reading is their preference. Do you have novel you’d like reviewed? If so, send it to the reviewer that reads something similar. Also, many of our reviewers are unavailable at the time because they are busy reading our contest submissions. We have some reviewers that read “Literary Fiction” which may be what you are talking about. You will, however, need to contact one reviewer at a time.

  6. Hi, I am seeking a reviewer willing to review a novella in the genre of commercial biographical which includes erotica. The book is extremely explicit, and I do not see any category to suit. “Hard Money – The naked truth behind the red light” is a collection of short stories, facts, observations, and anecdotes about the daily activities inside a currently operating inner-Sydney massage parlour. The book was created by constructing into stories, the information gleaned from the parlour’s (employed at the time of research) prostitutes and their clients, both of whom volunteered to be interviewed by the author.

This is the Amazon page for my book: http://www.amazon.com/Hard-Money-Verity-Marshall/dp/0646591673

  7. I’m amazed only one person wants to review non fiction and unless i have missed something no one wants to review military history. I have the book Digger’s story that I would dearly love someone to review for me!

    1. Hi Cheenu, Posting here is not likely to get a review. You’ll have to submit a formal request to one of the reviewers who review your genre. We have plenty of romance reviewers here and at TheKindleRomanceReview.net However, if your book is “incomplete” you are not likely to get accepted because our reviewers want to read complete works that have been properly edited. And besides, you’ll get a better review if it is complete and edited. I hope I am not misinterpreting your definition of “complete”.

  8. Hello,
A small suggestion: please consider having your reviewers read/review manuscripts that have yet to be converted to mobi files for Kindle. Some of us indie publishers need books reviewed, but have not formatted the manuscripts for submission to Amazon. That may not happen for months, and it can take reviewers that long just to respond. By the time we format and upload to Kindle, it’s too late for a timely review!
    Thank you,
    William Garner
    Adagio Press

    1. Hi Lynnette, That is very normal. Our reviewers ONLY post reviews on Amazon unless they want to post at the other sites like B&N, goodreads, etc (but that is their choice). All of the books featured on our website are paid promotions. See our “Advertise” page for details and then contact Amber so how we can promote your book here and beyond.

      http://www.thekindlebookreview.net/advertise-here/

      Good luck!

  9. I am really excited about finding this site. Is this an official Kindle site? How do I send a copy of my book to the potential reviewer? I can’t wait to get started. I am Scottish originally but now live in Australia and have a book about a Japanese Prisoner of War on Amamzon Kindle—Digger’s Story. And another on the way.

    1. Hi Brian, just go to our Get Reviewed page and following the instruction there. Thanks for checking us out!

  10. I am sorry to post another question; I see you are very patient with so many people posting the same questions over and over. But I have read the instructions, and there is one point that is unclear. When I send a formal review request, do I include a link to the ebook, or a gift coupon for it, along with the request? Or should I wait until the reviewer emails me back and says they will take a look at it?
    Thank you.

    1. Hi Victoria,
A formal review request is more or a less professional request to review your book which should include the following:
1.Intro, who you are, what you are requesting.
      2 Title of book.
3.Author name listed on the book cover/name you wish to use.
      4.Link (if available)
      5.Brief synopsis.
6.A digital version in the format requested by the reviewer, or a you can gift it if the author accepts the format gifted.

Hope that helps and good luck!

    1. I just realized it could have been a busy week with the Thanksgiving Holiday and all. He may be behind on email.

      1. Jeff — your guidelines tell me to “write a request to only one reviewer.” I did that and received what I thought was a very professional review. But I would like a second review of the same book. Does that violate your “one reviewer” rule?

      2. Gil. Good question. All of our reviewers post through the same account so we can only review your book once.

  11. I WANT TO REVIEW BOOKS I’VE READ!!! I have many favorite authors and have over 4500 ebooks, reading them all, one at a time. I’d like to write reviews but this site is specific to Kindle, which is what got me addicted to ebooks. Now reading on my iPad and I’ve given my Kindle to my mother and now have her addicted to ebooks! I love seeing so many authors typing comments here and would love to read every one of their books then do reviews, just not sure how to get to all of you. One of my favorite authors, Jason Andrew Bond, has me addicted to every book he writes and I want to do reviews of his books too!

  12. I spent a long time writing to many reviewers on this list. Most of them didn’t reply, and the very few who were courteous enough to do so were too busy to look at my book (fair enough).

I think you should perhaps contact these listed reviewers and get them to update their info. If they are too busy to even reply then it would be better for them to take their names from the list so that authors don’t get their hopes up and waste their time writing emails, then waiting in hope, then giving up, writing another email, waiting, etc etc. Sorry to say it’s quite an unpleasant experience and a waste of time and effort.

      1. I think they need to update their info Jeff. Maybe you will have better luck than me, but I wasted a lot of time and effort here. I understand they are offering to review books for free, which is very generous, but if the offer is not genuine or out of date, it just gets people’s hopes up for nothing.
