What to expect:
- Wait patiently; we get many requests for reviews a week. Our reviewers are not obligated to review your work. If they don’t get into your book, you may not see a review. NO HATE MAIL PLEASE. We all know how subjective literature is. You can always contact another reviewer. Please allow between two to four weeks to hear back from the reviewer. If you do not hear back within that time frame, you are free to contact another reviewer.
- Expect an honest review. When we opened our doors to reviewing, we changed our policy to accept any small press/indie author no matter how many reviews he or she has received. So be kind to the reviewers and be open to accepting their opinion of your work.
- Do not contact the reviewer after he or she receives your ebook. He or she will send a written copy of their review and post it on Amazon, but with Amazon’s new review policies we cannot guarantee that the review will stay on Amazon. And remember, our reviewers are busy people too, and don’t deserve to be badgered. To increase your chance of keeping the review up on Amazon, you may gift a copy to the reviewer upon their agreement to review your book. (The KBR only post our reviews on Amazon, but the reviewer is free to post the review under their name at any site, including their personal blog if they have one. After all, the review is their intellectual property.)
- Feel free to add KBR reviews, or a snippet, to your “Amazon product description page” or website. This is our gift to you for allowing us to read your work.
Meet the KBR Reviewers…
Non-Fiction
Annette Ranald – I am a practicing attorney by day, an historical and political fiction writer anytime else. I have a blog on Facebook and Goodreads. I’m looking to make my mark as a book reviewer of non-fiction work, since I read so much of it. I’m interested in history, biography, memoir, current events, self-help, satire, almost anything non-fiction except for paranormal, religious or spiritual. When submitting your review request, be sure to include subject “KBR Review Request” and send to annetteranald@gmail.com
Thriller/ Suspense/ Horror
Kelly Young – I am a nanny and newlywed who loves reading Mystery/Thriller novels, especially psychological thrillers. My favorite books are fast paced, nail biting thrillers with a lot of plot twists that suck me in from the very beginning and have me reading late into the night until the very last page. I help run a large book group with other nannies around the country who also love this genre. I am a goodreads reviewer and also blog about my favorite new books and authors. Some popular authors I like include B.A. Paris, Ruth Ware, K.L. Slater, Taylor Adams, Mary Kubica, and Harlan Coben. I especially love debut novels from new authors in this genre. When submitting your book for review, put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is KellyYoungReads@gmail.com*
Romance
Stephanie Lasley– As an avid Contemporary Romance reader, Stephanie has devoured over a hundred popular trilogies and stand alone novels. She loves curling up in her Lazy Boy chair while losing herself in the plot of a good story. Being a rapid reader will enable her to provide an author with a swift assessment of their work. When submitting your book please include “KBR Review Request” in the subject line and email Stephanie at stephanie.lasley60@gmail.com
Lashanta Charles – I’m an author, a mother of three (3.5 if you count my husband), and also a Soldier. I’m from South Carolina, but currently live in Washington state. When I’m not writing, I’m reading (or eating, eating is VERY important to me). I will read just about anything, but I do have my limits. My current favorite is Paranormal Romance. Yes, I love the idea of gorgeous alien men coming to cherish women as their life mates…sue me! I love romance period, but I get all warm and fuzzy for Sports Romances, New Adult Romances, Contemporary Romances, and College Romances. I love a good crisis, but I hate a cheater, and I’m okay with cliff hangers (as long as the next book is promised to me and it isn’t a year away). I’m also okay with books in a series as long as I can start from the beginning (even if they’re all stand alone). I won’t accept poetry and Y/A will be considered case by case. My preferred formats are Kindle or PDF. Send your review requests to lashantacharles@gmail.com
Mary Hooper – I love to read and I read several books a week. I currently do read ARC’s for a few select authors for honest reviews. I post reviews to Amazon, Goodreads and my Facebook page. I am working on setting up a Facebook page focused on reviews, spotlights for new releases and authors profiles. When submitting your book, please include KBR Review in the subject line and my email is dachshundlady@comcast.net
David Burnett – I am a retired statistician/ educational researcher, having retired as director of our state’s department of education. Currently, I teach psychology, part-time at a local community college. I love to read and to write, and I’ve published two novels. I enjoy photography, travel, and playing with our two – soon to be three – grandchildren. I enjoy Romance (contemporary, historical, time-slip), Spy/Adventure. I would prefer to receive books in either as Kindle books or mobi formats. I could also accept pdf files. When you send your formal request put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line. My email is carsue8083@aol.com.
Science Fiction/Fantasy
Traci Marlatt – A Recent College grad who loves books and would read all day if I could. I prefer Fantasy over Sci-fi, but I am not opposed to reading a good sci-fi either. What kind of book-nerd would I be if I were? I prefer reading on my kindle. And will “grade” on writing ability: character development, plot-line, world creation, editing errors, etc. depending on book needs. Email to: tmtelatar@gmail.com Subject: “KBR review request” and please include a synopsis. Happy Writing!
Poetry
Jim Bennett – This poet will review any poetry as long as it’s in Kindle format. He’s married and lives in Toronto. Jim has taught “Poetry Techniques for Prose Writers” in Sheridan College. When contacting Jim, include the subject “KBR Review Submission” and mail to jim.jimb@gmail.com. Be sure to attach your .mobi file to your email request. (A Kindle book author can get a copy of his/her book file by going to its project and starting to update it. You will be given an opportunity to download a preview of your Kindle ebook. Save this, it’s the .mobi file you need to send to me.)

If I read your book I will post reviews on GOODREADS and on my popular book review BLOG, with links from my FACEBOOK and TWITTER accounts – I’ll also put your book’s cover on INSTAGRAM and my PINTEREST board “Books I’ve Reviewed”; Editorial Reviews can be added to Amazon in Author Central. My reviews are very detailed and bloggy (usually several hundred words), and they do not shy away from honesty, but I’ll try not to dash dreams either! I do comment on grammar, so please try to send me final proofs; for this reason I prefer PDF copies.
Erin Everett – I am a mother of three who loves to submerge (and scare) herself with a good book. I tend to reach for a horror or thriller book but on occasion I like to mix it up with a good romance novel. I love the smell and feel of a book but due to space constraints the Kindle app is a great substitute. When submitting your book for review, put “KBR Book Request” in the subject line and my email is erin_lynnbly@yahoo.com
Lindsay Hiller – I am the mother of three and author of a bestselling Young Adult/ Fantasy novel. I am addicted to reading and I go through at least three books a week. Please put “KBR Review Request” in the subject line and send to arh.turner@gmail.com.
Elizabeth Alsobrooks – She was one of those girls whose parents would walk by her bedroom door and say, “turn off that flashlight and go to sleep,” because they knew she was hiding under the covers with a book. Though that was more than a couple years ago, she still loves reading. An Urban Fantasy author, she enjoys reading urban fantasy, paranormal, historical paranormal romance, horror, thriller and YA. Elizabeth accepts mobi, pdf, or epub formats. Please include “KBR Review Request” in the subject line and email your request to elizabethalsobrooks@gmail.com

Gerald Sallier – An unabashed elitist, Gerald seeks to find those diamonds in the rough of self-published fiction. Those who transcend market politics and have something worth actually saying. He enjoys works with a philosophical twist (provided you’ve done your homework, no armchairs allowed) and loves a riveting satire – again, provided you actually have something worth saying. Silly musings need not apply. No romance or any other genre which is derivative of romance. No simple adult fiction, vis a vis YA. He enjoys science fiction, satire, humor, fantasy, and literary. When submitting your formal review request, be sure to include subject “KBR Review Request”. His email is gtsallier@gmail.com.
Sandi Hansen – I can’t remember a time when I didn’t love to read. I was the girl at school, or on the bus, who always had her nose in a book. I have even tried my hand at writing, working my way through college by writing for the college newspaper. I currently write reviews for Amazon.com, NetGalley, and for my Facebook page, entitled “Reading for the Masses.” I would be interested in proofreading and/or reviewing books in the following genres: Nonfiction: Anthropology, True Crime, History, and Self-help or Pop-Psychology. I prefer contemporary romance, but I love historical as well. I’ve read many paranormal, shape-shifter, and light erotica books, but I’m not really interested in reading hardcore erotica. If you would like a review from me, please include KBR Review Request in the subject line and include a short synopsis of your book as well as your expectations from the review process in the body of your request. Hi everyone,
Finally Caribbean Tears have been published. It is a psychological thriller based on Trinidad and Venezuela. Please do not forget to check out my other books. All of them need some reviews.
Sheila is a 35-year-old Trinidadian woman who has all she wants: a caring husband, Miguel, and two beautiful children. She is a housewife who has devoted her life to bringing up her children. But her life is turned upside down when her police-officer husband locks up the brother of a local gang leader, which triggers an attack on her family.
Sheila is kidnapped and shipped to Venezuela, where she is sold to a brothel owned by a woman by the name of Bernadette. There her nightmare begins, as she is forced into prostitution. She is tormented nightly by the brutal Victor, who is Bernadette’s lover and the brothel’s supervisor.
Despite her daily tortures, Sheila keeps hoping for escape. She befriends the other women at the brothel, including a teenage girl, who benefit from her positive outlook.
Back in Trinidad, a badly-burned body of another woman is mistaken for Sheila. Believing she is dead, her husband eventually begins a relationship with a woman named Candice, whose actions are partially the cause of Sheila’s family’s pain and suffering.
Will Sheila be able to escape her nightmare and get her life back?

Hello Everyone, I have some fiction for you if you like thrillers full of action and adventure, faith and friendship. A tale you’ll not soon forget.
Hello,
The Tenant’s Wrath: a free book up to 7th February 2020 on amazon free kindle books.
The author had tenanted in nine local houses from 2005 to 2010, before shifting to his own building in 2010. While living in this building, he published his book in Kiswahili titled ‘HASIRA ZA MPANGAJI(The Tenant’s Wrath)’ in January 2012. This work had only 112 pages and it included only 500 printed copies.
He employed it to extract some more data from other tenants as he walked with his book in streets. The author continued to tenant after shifting from his own house in 2015. Now, he has an experience of more than thirteen tenancies in local houses. There are troublesome tenants and troublesome house owners in some tenancies. How this report is presented?. Through appreciating efforts that are done in space technology and exoplanetology.
The report on how landlords and tenants live together, is assumed to be written in 34th Century, one century after the first signal indicating aliens’ presence is detected. A fictional reporter from earth, writes it after voyaging to aliens ‘exoplanet.

Sex, The illustrated History Through Time. Religion and Culture (3 Volumes) (with over 900 Illusrtrations)
A cross-cultural examination of sexual beliefs, the book traces sexual practices, the unusual and the transcendent, throughout the worlds’ cultures. A deep look at world religions and their control of sex, the book explores complex relationships between spirituality, sexuality, and the treatment of women throughout history. The book revamps previous historical interpretations of gender fluidity in worldwide cultures.
While women were exalted as leaders and priestesses in many cultures, they suffered a drastic loss of power and prestige over time. The supremacy of the Mother Goddess throughout most of human existence, and her relatively recent fall, is detailed.
Other themes are; the existence of bisexuality in the majority of human cultures, the influence and abuses of the Church, the history of sexual slavery including World War II, child brides and forced marriages, historical perspectives on homosexuality, the origins of the LGBTQ and Feminist movements..
Included are works of mythology, erotic artwork, and literary excerpts. These weave together a multicultural and historical tapestry which we can now see reflected in our contemporary world. It offers in very readable form an encyclopedic tour of the sexuality of humankind!

“THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT WEIGHT LOSS YOU WISH YOU KNEW”
The Health and Fitness industry has lied to me for many years.
It is currently worth $4.2 trillion. The Healthy Eating, Nutrition and Weight Loss sector alone is worth $ 702 billion.
A brilliant idea for a lucrative business is to make simple and straightforward issues seem extremely complicated, and then convince people that they just cannot find a solution on their own. Another cool way to make big bucks is to offer people some ideas, which will apparently to solve their problem, but in reality they constitute only a mere fraction of the ultimate solution, and can never work on their own without a comprehensive approach.
Either way, the industry is making giant money on people like you, who want to learn more, but there is just so much information thrown at them that they just can’t distinguish legit data from crap that was creatively made to look like evidence-based material.
Perhaps you’re a serial dieter and you’ve tried literally everything that’s out there, keto, paleo, fasting, magic powders, detox, low-carb, high-carb, you name it.
Or maybe you’re a mature woman and have been told that weight loss over 50 is just not happening, and you have to come to terms with it.
Maybe you have been unsuccessfully trying to lose that post pregnancy weight.
Or perhaps you feel bitter and disappointed because you are so dedicated to your workout routines and healthy eating but somehow you still can’t seem to get rid of those last few pounds to finally see the body that you have been working so hard for.
It may be that you are simply a little bit scared and reluctant to start any weight loss program, because they all just seem to be so strict that they would require your undivided attention and efforts, and completely signing out of your normal family and social life.
You do not need to be always hungry and miserable to lose weight. Your life does not have to be full of restriction and exclusions. Your family life does not have to be ruined. Social situations do not have to be unbearable.
You don’t have to kiss pizza goodbye forever.
You don’t have to kill yourself training.
You can eat as many meals per day as you want, at whatever time you choose.
You don’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on supplements.
Sounds like science-fiction?
It’s not.
It’s just science. No magic.
Do yourself a favor – stop reading obsolete and harmful weight loss theories. Stop listening to charlatans telling you that a detox or magic pills will solve your problem. Stop getting excited about new strict “weight loss” diets, which promise you 40 lbs less in 2 months, where all you have to do is eliminate almost all foods that normal people eat every day…. Learn what weight loss is really about, how it actually happens, and how you can pull this off and still live a normal life.
I summarized it all here for you. I focus on the most important things you need to know. All you will read here is based on pure scientific knowledge and its sensible interpretation, and not on guesswork or some tortuous ideologies that simply feel right at the time for their authors so they present them as scientific facts.
The weight loss process is simple, logical, and easy. This is the only book on weight loss that you will ever need, because nothing else actually works.
Does this mean it will require no effort at all?
Of course not. You have to work to get what you want. After all – “If we keep doing what we’re doing, we’re going to keep getting what we’re getting.” [Stephen Covey]
Will this turn your life upside down?
No, not in a negative sense. You can lose weight while having a normal life. But it will definitely be a life-changing experience, this I can promise 🙂
Free to grab on April 19 and 20.

Desolation
Post-apocalyptic, Australian, Adventure, Survival Horror
—-
It has been twenty-six years since the world humanity knew ended. An outbreak brought humanity to its knees and to this day remains on the brink of extinction as zombies dominate the arable regions of the Australian continent leaving just pockets of human settlements dotting the vast deserts of a hostile landscape. What’s left of human society is slowly ripping itself apart in a horrific dystopian future. Born right after the outbreak, and living a nomadic and isolated existence, Jack must now confront what it truly means to be human. In a world where old-world sentiment and sensibilities cling on by a thread with a handful of outbreak survivors trying desperately not to lose the social and moral progress of humanity to the decaying dust and sand of the Australian outback. Follow Jack and Ashe through a hellscape in a quest for hope and a reason to go on living in the first novel in this epic series, as Jack rediscovers his own humanity and the emotions and meaning that comes with it, while Ashe deals with the trauma from her former life as a slave.

Maryam’s Tree was born out of a deep hurt that I often feel for the world around us. We seem to be bombarded with reports of conflict–often deadly–between nations, political opponents, and even families, the people with whom we should feel most safe. This sad reality was the inspiration for my book. But in these divided times, the hurt is not the overriding message of my book. More than anything, I wrote the book with a sense of hope. It is a story of divisions but also one of overcoming–at least for one of the couples I’ll introduce you to.
As the story opens, two would-be lovers meet by chance at a village well. It could be the start of something magical, yet the end is tragic because of clans at war in Yemen, South Arabia where my narrative begins. Then we skip ahead in time and move the action of the story to Birmingham in England. Another couple meets, and here’s where the hope comes in. This time, love wins out–despite the differences in culture and religion between a newly arrived ex-pat and the girl he buys a drink for at a pub.
And so we have two stories that start out much the same but end in vastly different ways. For a young character named Maryam, the wonder of new love soon turns into agony as bullets rip through flesh and other acts of horror follow. Some scenes are hard to write. But the job of fiction is to mirror truth, and the truth is sometimes hard to see.
