Kent Krause is a freelance writer. He grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Iowa State University. He earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of Nebraska and has published articles in Great Plains Quarterly and The International Journal of the History of Sport.
