A Brief Synopsis of Apart From Love:

When Ben, a twenty-seven year old student, finds himself increasingly drawn to his father’s spunky, red-headed, new wife, the two of them begin to take turns intimately expressing their feelings for one another on an old tape recorder.

Meanwhile, Lenny, Ben’s dad has been listening. And he is also trying to keep a painful secret from them both. Ben’s mother, a talented pianist, is battling early onset Alzheimer. Caring for her is gradually wearing him down.

Ultimately, the three of them struggle to begin a journey away from conflict, out of isolation, and find a way to move from guilt to forgiveness.

Uvi Poznansky is a California-based author, poet and artist.
